Choose the RedBoard Turbo for experiments that have outgrown a basic 8-bit control loop but still benefit from an Arduino R3 layout. Its SAMD21 processor, external flash and Qwiic connection support projects that combine sensing, stored data and visible feedback. A useful classroom challenge is to sample a sensor regularly while updating the RGB LED, then measure how blocking code changes the sampling interval. The board supplies compute and interfaces; the robot mechanics remain a separate design task.
Before you buy
Use the SAMD21 software setup and confirm 3.3 V peripheral compatibility. Do not assume every 5 V Arduino shield is electrically compatible.
