Detect nearby objects and ambient light with the Vishay VCNL4040 on this Qwiic breakout. Its infrared sensing supports close-range presence experiments, including objects near the sensor face. The output is qualitative, so it is suited to detecting presence or relative changes rather than treating each reading as a calibrated distance measurement.
