Measure acceleration and rotation with the BMI270 Qwiic breakout. The six-axis sensor is useful for investigating robot motion, detecting a change in orientation or building a gesture interface. Students can record a stationary baseline, move one axis at a time and compare the accelerometer and gyroscope signals before attempting sensor fusion. This is a source of motion measurements, not a ready-made absolute navigation solution, so calibration and drift remain part of the lesson.
Before you buy
Use a compatible supply and I2C setup. Check the address when sharing a bus, and calibrate the assembled system before deriving orientation or motion estimates.
