The TCT40 Qwiic sensor measures distance with sound and sends readings over I2C. Its Qwiic connections simplify wiring to a compatible host, while separate trigger and echo pins provide another integration route. This makes it a useful component for comparing ultrasonic sensing with optical time-of-flight sensing in a robotics lesson. SparkFun lists a 2–400 cm measurement range and notes that the sensor arrives uncalibrated. Plan to calibrate and test it with the surfaces and placement used in the actual project before relying on its readings.
